Lawrence County stands as a testament to the power of community and the importance of accessible healthcare. In October 2022, KY HEARS held its first official hearing clinic in Louisa, KY, as part of the Lawrence County Health Fair. This was a post-pandemic health fair and people from all over the county were reengaged in taking an active role in getting much needed information about health care initiatives in the area. KY HEARS was able to provide hearing screenings, conduct healthy ear exams, and consult with attendees about their hearing loss.
Event Overview
Our partnership with the Lawrence County Health Department, located in Louisa, Ky, continues to grow. Our most recent hearing clinic offered comprehensive hearing services that included full diagnostic testing, hearing aid fittings and hearing aid programming. It served as a beacon for those seeking to improve their hearing health, drawing attention to the often-overlooked aspect of our well-being.
The Importance of Hearing Health
Since our initial visit in 2022, we have returned to Louisa quarterly to provide continuous care for patients who experience hearing loss. Many of our patients now have access to hearing amplification devices, hearing aids and treatments that have positively affected their daily lives. Hearing health is crucial for maintaining a high quality of life. This event underscored its significance, providing the community with the tools and knowledge to take proactive steps towards better hearing.

Plans are already underway to bring more services and events to Lawrence County, reinforcing the commitment to accessible hearing healthcare for all. Our team will return to Louisa in April for an upcoming health fair that will be held at the Lawrence County Community Center.
